In 1976, Biamp was born from the idea of creating and manufacturing reliable, durable, high quality audio products for live performances. Over the past 40 years, the changes in our products and the applications in which they are used are vast, but our overall goal of creating great products for our customers remains unchanged. From the early days of console mixers to our most recent unified communications products, Biamp has threaded superior audio quality and rock-solid reliability and support into everything we make.

Fast-forward to the 1990s, Biamp moved away from developing products for live performances to developing products for installed sound applications. In the early 2000s, the company broke new ground with the introduction of Audia: a unique, scalable, open-architecture audio platform providing new ways to address a broad range of audio applications. Followed by the Nexia, Vocia, Tesira, and Devio product families, Biamp most recently broke ground by integrating Ethernet video distribution within the Tesira platform with TesiraLUX. It is indeed an exciting time for our industry, and a new chapter in the design, deployment, and support of integrated AV systems for Biamp’s customers.

As we reflect over our past 40 years, three key elements have remained consistently important to our longevity: great people, fantastic customers, and real passion. Biamp is fortunate to have been located in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon, from the beginning. We have benefited from a long line of amazing people – both Oregon natives and from other parts of the country – who have contributed their talents to build a great company. Today the company has grown across the world with its own employees, and is partnered with talented and select international distributors, independent rep firms, and systems integrators who share the Biamp vision and passion.

This year we also saw the expansion of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that our customers will continue to receive products when they need them, and trust they’ll work as they expect them to. Our Applications Engineering, Customer Service, Engineering, Training, Marketing, Product Management, and Sales teams join our other departments to provide services that we believe lead the industry. Every job at Biamp is important, and everyone has a role in making the customer experience a great one. Working toward excellence in service and creating excellent products are not only good for our customers, but they are also things in which everyone at Biamp takes pride.

So, as we celebrate this special year, we want to express our very sincere thanks to our customers who have made the last 40 years possible, and who place their trust in us every day. I can imagine that over the next 40 years, Biamp will continue to add and apply bright minds to solving the problems faced by customers, and developing creative new ways for people to communicate. What an honor to be here at this time.
