The question is a common one: “where’s the V in AVB?” It’s a little-known fact that Biamp has been working to create a video product for the last several years. Biamp didn’t decide to develop video capabilities simply because we could; our customers were asking for it. Our commitment to customers is evident in our laser-focus on needs-based product development.
Something big is coming from Biamp, but we can’t share it with you just yet. All will be revealed in due time.
Although the pro AV industry still refers to the AVB/TSN protocol as AVB, the TSN aspect really shows how AVB is growing. TSN requirements have forced the AVB protocols to become even more refined. Timing and synchronization requirements have shortened, while forwarding and queuing mechanisms are becoming more advanced.
We are proud to announce that with the release of firmware version 2.4.2, Tesira server-class products will be AVnu-certified. The Tesira AVnu-certified products include Tesira SERVER, SERVER-IO, and TesiraFORTÉ devices.
